TWAIN represented at the WIMBY project webinar on September 2025

TWAIN will be one of the projects present at the upcoming webinar “Streamlining Wind Energy Planning: The Role of Stakeholder Involvement”on September 10th, 2025 at 11:00 am CET.

Organised by the EU-funded project WIMBY – Wind in My Backyard, together with the projects WENDY and JustWind4All, the webinar comes from a cluster of sister projects that also address social, environmental, and policy dimensions of renewable energy to share insights, foster dialogue, and to present initial policy recommendations.

The TWAIN session will be led by Dr. Irene Eguinoa from CENER, the project’s Scientific Coordinator. Titled “Integrating operational aspects for enhanced wind energy planning“, the subject of the session is how wind farms are subject to a set of varied (and varying) surrounding conditions that influence and determine their actual operation and performance. This includes meteorological and market conditions, grid requirements, changes in regulation, wildlife activity or social acceptance, among others.

In such a complex context, achieving a better understanding of the interplay among concurrent effects becomes crucial for optimized business planning and decision making, reducing the associated risk. To this end, TWAIN project develops coordinated solutions for wind farm control and asset management from an integrated value-based perspective, under the alignment of multiple stakeholders’ views.
