The TWAIN project was present at the Lisbon Energy Summit 2024 in Lisbon, Portugal, from May 27 to 29. TWAIN was part of the F6S Innovation booth, the communication and dissemination partner of the project, together with other energy efficiency projects of the company, i-STENTORE, DigiWind, HEDGE-IoT, Project EXIGENCE, WeForming, 6G-PATH, SNUG EU, and Project INFERNO.
The event was a great opportunity to network and engage with stakeholders in the energy sector, to explain the methodology, objectives, and goals of TWAIN, and to gather more interested parties for the development of the project, especially through the open calls phase of the project.
Besides the connections with the attendees, the event was a great opportunity to attend panels dedicated to the energy transition through supportive policies and digitalisation. On the first day, the panel “Global Energy Strategy Panel: Accelerating the Energy Transition through Supportive Policy” addressed the role of policies in sustainable energy, such as the European Green Deal, in securing clean energy efficiency and availability for consumers.
The discussions continued on the second day, with important sessions on renewable energy, such as the “Hybridised onshore renewable energy projects” panel about efficiency in hybrid onshore renewables for wind facilities. On the third day, the session “Digitalisation and transformative technology: Driving the Energy Transition” discussed the importance of technologies such as data intelligence and AI to the energy sector as a driver of the energy transition to achieve transformative impacts. The sessions were aligned with TWAIN’s missions and vision and provided important tools for knowledge sharing.
