From March 20–22, WindEurope’s annual on- and offshore wind energy event was held in Bilbao, Spain, for a three-day conference and exhibition. There were 12,000+ attendees discussing the shape of European wind energy today, with dozens of conference sessions, hundreds of speakers, and 500+ exhibitors from the whole value chain looking to showcase their innovations and seal new deals.
TWAIN was presented by the project coordinator and senior researcher of DTU Wind and Energy Systems, Tuhfe Göçmen, within the Research and Innovation in Action session. The session included “project pitch” presentations, organised in collaboration with the European Academy of Wind Energy, aiming to serve as a bridge between academia and industry, offering insights and updates into research projects primed for collaboration. The session was divided into 2 parts (2 presentations each), and each presentation showcased the potential for mutual benefit, demonstrating how industry partnerships can accelerate innovation, drive market relevance, and amplify the impact of research outcomes on real-world challenges.
The TWAIN presentation has gathered a lot of interest, with around 100 attendees in the area. Before and after the session, there were many international wind farm control enthusiasts asking questions regarding the project scope and excited to see the technical results soon!
TWAIN also had the chance to connect further with the cohort projects funded under the same call, as well as other European projects such as HiperWind, ICONIC, AIRE and MERIDIONAL.
